Introduction to the The Haven
The Haven Children’s home is a care home within the wider organisation of Skylark Care Solutions Ltd. It offers a high quality living environment for children and young people offering a child centred approach which is tailored to meet their individual needs. The Haven Children’s home is a 4 bed roomed semi-detached property built in 2023 and located in Glan Llyn, Newport, South Wales. Our home was named the Haven, derived from the Old English “haefen” and points to a safe harbour or sanctuary, where one can be themselves and feel loved. All essential amenities are within easy reach.
The Social Services and Well-being
The Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 and Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016 have been considered in developing the Home’s Statement of Purpose.
The Social Services and Wellbeing (Wales) Act 2014 enshrines the rights of people using care and support services in law and provides a statutory framework for the way people’s needs are assessed and the way services are delivered.
